SEVE and the University of Western Macedonia join forces

A memorandum of cooperation was signed during 86her Thessaloniki International Exhibition (17.09.22) at the SEVE-Exporters Association stand, the President of Mr. Simeon Diamantidis and the Rector of the University of Western Macedonia Professor Mr. Theodoros Theodoulidis, with the aim of developing joint actions for the interconnection of the academic community and extroverted entrepreneurship.

Indicatively among the actions agreed upon are:

_ The utilization of the services of the PDM laboratories, the know-how and the research of the university, with the aim of the development and competitiveness of Greek businesses and the stimulation of employment

_ The development of joint promotion and publicity of research results, for the benefit of researchers, businesses and the wider society

_ The development of actions at the University related to entrepreneurship with an emphasis on extroversion (through mentoring processes, coaching, expert presentations, specialized training, etc.)

_ Cooperation for participation in financial programs and instruments, including the Just Transition Plan

_ The joint organization of educational seminars and other educational activities, with the aim of developing specialized knowledge and skills according to the future needs of the labor market

_ Mutual promotion of PDM and SEVE education/training activities

_ The cooperation of SEVE with the PDM Liaison Office and its utilization for the benefit of the educational and business community

_ Cooperation and joint initiatives for the utilization, promotion and adoption of the requirements of 4her Industrial revolution, the circular economy, the Just Transition, etc.

_ The joint development and implementation of innovative actions for the benefit of the development of the local labor market and the prevention of brain drain

From the cooperation of the Parties, it is estimated that valuable synergies will be developed with multiplying and measurable results in the field of training, employment, applied research as well as regional and local development.

The signing of the Memorandum was also attended by the Vice Chancellor of Finance, Planning & Development of the University of Western Macedonia, Professor Georgios Iordanidis and the Dean of the School of Economics Professor Androniki Katarachia.
