Last Saturday (23/7), according to Croatian media reports, along with the opening of the city’s summer festival, passers-by caught a couple of tourists having sex in public in the old town of Dubrovnik where the stars of the Game of Thrones used to shoot their own scenes. The city was the set of King’s Landing.
Someone even started taking pictures and video of them (which is completely inappropriate) which has gone viral on social media.
The couple only stopped when passers-by walking from the opposite side of the street appeared to be approaching them. They got dressed one by one and left the scene.
With the incident taking dimensions inside and outside Croatia’s borders, the residents of Dubrovnik wanted to present the situation they experience every day due to the presence of tourists.
They emphasize that their behavior is unacceptable and incidents like this are not the first time they have happened. They reported to the local media that it is a common phenomenon for tourists to get drunk and have sex in public, on the streets or even on beaches, and several times without caring about the time. They also complained that tourists vandalize and urinate and vomit on their doors.
So they asked the authorities to step up checks and try to control such behaviors that have tired them in recent years when the city has become one of the “hottest” destinations in the world for summer holidays.
