The Berlin marathon had a very special entrant, with 2007 Ballon d’Or winner Kaka taking part and even completing the course in 3 hours and 38 minutes.

The Berlin Marathon that was held on Sunday afternoon had a football aroma from the top shelf, since one of the most beloved football players that Brazil has produced in the last 20 years, Kaka, took part in it.

The 2007 Ballon d’Or winner (the last before Messi and Ronaldo began sweeping the titles) was one of 45,000 runners who covered just over 42km, with the veteran footballer proving that when heart and soul want it, it can to follow the body no matter how afflicted it is.

“I’m as excited as I was before football games”had declared shortly before the now 40-year-old Kaka entered the fray, with the first marathon of his life in which he took part, finding him finishing with a time of 3:38:06.

It is noted that the two-time Olympic gold medalist, Eliud Kipchoge, was the first to cut the thread, with the 37-year-old Kenyan doing the distance in 2:01:10, smashing his own world record (he had it since 2018 and again in Berlin with 2:01 :39) and win his fourth marathon in the German capital equaling the performance of Haile Gebreselassie.
