Nestle: Perrier destroys millions of water bottles due to bacterial contamination
THE Perriera subsidiary of Nestle, was faced with the contamination of two million bottles of water by bacteria and germs.
“Many batches of bottles” which are equivalent to “several hundred pallets” were destroyed, according to Nestlé.
The company has not specified the level of contamination, but has assured that “all bottles on the market can now be consumed with complete safety.”

The group has already facedi categories for the treatment of water brands Vittel, Contrex and Hépar, as well as Perrier.
According to Nestle the presence of infectious bacteria it was spotted after the very heavy rains following Storm Monica which hit south-east France in mid-March.
The well, in Vergèze, near Nîmes, has provided water for the Perrier brand since it was created in 1903.
The operation of the well, “will resume in due course under the control of the authorities,” according to Nestlé.
The mineral water maker has been under pressure since late January after it admitted it had used banned processes in some of its brands to maintain quality.
