Ready for strikes on its nuclear weapons and facilities NATO which will possibly be developed in Poland, Russia declares.

Russia’s deputy foreign minister warned that nuclear weapons and NATO facilities would be targeted if deployed in Poland.

Sergei Ryabkov told the state-run TASS news agency that NATO’s joint nuclear missions near Russia’s border would be seen as a threat to its security.

“Let alone the permanent growth that the hotheads in Warsaw are talking about,” he adds.

“That’s why all those politicians discussing such an option inside and outside Poland should understand: any steps in this direction will not add to Poland’s security and the relevant facilities will inevitably be a target. And they will be at the forefront of our military planning.”

Poland’s president said this week that the country would be ready to host NATO allies’ nuclear weapons in response to Russia’s transfer of nuclear weapons to neighboring Belarus.

Andrey Duda made these comments in an interview published in the tabloid Fakt.

“If there is a decision by our allies to develop nuclear weapons, within the framework of nuclear sharing, and on our territory, in order to strengthen the security of NATO’s eastern side, we are ready,” he said.
