Hezbollah: Launched attack deeper than ever into Israeli soil – Reports of hit on military base

Lebanon’s Hezbollah launched several drones at Israeli military bases near Haifa on Tuesday, in the deepest strikes inside Israeli soil since cross-border hostilities and the Gaza war began in October.

The Hezbollah strike came hours after an Israeli drone strike hit a vehicle near Lebanon’s southern city of Aadloon earlier on Tuesday, killing two people, including a senior official of the group.

In a statement shared by the movement’s Al-Manar station, Hezbollah claimed it “launched an air strike using drones targeting the headquarters of the Golani brigade and the Egoz 621 unit located in the Shraga military barracks in the north of the occupied city of Acre.”

The Israeli military said in a post on X that its air defenses shot down two “suspicious aerial targets” over the sea in the northern part of the country.

Hezbollah identified the two dead in the Israeli attack as Resistance fighter Hussain Ali Azkul (Hadi) from the town of Callaway and a resident of the town of Adlun in and Mohammed Khalil Attiya, codenamed Sajid, born in 1994, from the town Kana is also a resident of the city of Sarafad in southern Lebanon.

Israel responds with new attacks

In a later statement, the Islamic Resistance said its fighters attacked with appropriate weapons against a concentration of Israeli occupation soldiers in the area of ​​al-Assi, scoring direct hits.

Al Mayadeen’s correspondent in Lebanon had reported that attack drones launched from southern Lebanon hit an Israeli military target in one of the coastal settlements, in an unprecedented operation.

Israeli media had earlier reported that sirens sounded in the Upper al-Jalil area of ​​a drone incursion and reported that interceptor missiles were fired at a suspected aerial target in the skies over Nahariya.

Israeli media also noted that sirens sounded in numerous northern settlements that reached as far as the city of Acre.

So far there is no confirmation from the IDF that their facilities were hit while they announced that they carried out a new attack in Lebanon.
