The first production integration of the locally manufactured 76 mm naval gun was made by the Turkish Navy, placing it on the newly built class corvette Hisar, the TCG Akhisar (P-1220), which is typically referred to as an “offshore patrol”.

We have written many times about the cannon produced by the MEK company, as it was a rapid development program of about 4 years, with essentially a local copy of the Italian Leonardo Super Rapid, which is also the most widespread type internationally.

The Turkish version, with a speed of 120 rounds per minute, is intended to equip all new ships being built, and will probably replace older ones as well.
