The violent episode in the Parliament, in the area outside the Plenary with the protagonists of the former Spartan Konstantinos Floros and the MP of the Hellenic Solution Vassilis Grammenos who was allegedly punched by the former, continues to shock.

The incident took place while the Plenary Session of the Parliament was discussing the lifting of the immunity of the president of the Hellenic Solution, Kyriakos Velopoulos, following a lawsuit filed against him by the father of Konstantinos Floros, who accuses Mr. Velopoulos of lashed out via a hidden twitter account.

Before the violent attack, there was allegedly a verbal incident between the two politicians, with insults.

Floros: He cursed my most sacred thing

Konstantinos Floros himself claims that he reacted when Grammenos cursed his mother and categorically denied that he punched him.

The whole incident started with Mr. Chita’s speech about the removal of Mr. Velopoulos’ immunity stemming from a lawsuit filed by my father about 2-2.5 years ago for defamation through a fake account on X. The Mr. Chitas, therefore, on his speech, said that Mr. Velopoulos has nothing to do with this specific case. At that moment I turned around and simply told him that ‘that will be decided by the courts, not you’. At that moment, unnecessarily and without me having spoken to him, Mr. Grammenos jumped up and said to me, ‘shut it up, you piece of garbage’. I turn around and say to him ‘come c…’ and he says ‘I’ll give you c… you’. I say to him ‘what did you say’. He leaves at that moment and I sit back in my seat,” Floros initially told ANT1.

“He comes back provokingly, he handcuffed me, he tells me ‘you, your mother will f… old…’, he tells me ‘remember, they will take you inside handcuffed’. I leave at that moment, because I do not tolerate anyone cursing my mother who is the most sacred thing I have and I think it is for the whole world, I went out to the entrance, the guard of the Parliament was there, Mr. Grammenos was also there. He tells me ‘get out of here, get out of my face’. He pushes me and at that moment I turn around, grab him by the collar and throw him down. No punches they’ve reported, not the slightest bit. And that’s where the issue ended, people gathered, separated us and nothing else happened.”

When asked if he punched the Hellenic Solution MP, who suffered a broken nose, Floros was categorical: “Never, never.”

Written: Floros is lying

For his part, Vassilis Grammenos maintains that he never addressed the former Spartan MP.

“I absolutely respect the sacred role of the Greek mother. I come from a large family, I grew up with my mother. I am the father of three minor children. I did not abuse and did not go into the process of addressing this particular person. I am saddened and saddened that fellow journalists did not cross-examine the falsehoods he told them to justify his heinous act. I completely trust the Greek justice system and I eagerly await the decision of the investigator,” he said.
