It may be that in the review we made for the series As a lie we stated that we prefer Panagiotis Kyriakou without the beard and it became a demand of the public, but the actor has a good reason that he cannot cut it at this stage.
In the new series of Open, Panagiotis plays Stavros, the somewhat lazy, somewhat mischievous, but kind-hearted brother of Zoe and Nana.
He is the cause of the family’s financial problems, since he always manages to get into trouble. He hides from his family all the stupid things he does but they come out.
But why can’t he shave his beard?
Apart from the fact that it may be his style (and it is of course completely respected and accepted) Panagiotis Kyriakou is currently starring in a Cypriot series where the beard is an essential element of his role.
In particular, he plays the pope in the RIK-era police comedy, Pericles giai Erietta!
In fact, many actors who we met in Greece from Famagusta also star in this particular series, starting with Erietta played by Sofia Kallis, the Mary of Andrea Georgiou’s series.
In the characteristic scene that follows, you will also see the foreman of the Sekeris family farm, Nikitas (born Dimitris Antoniou).
