Three traffic accidents in just one day in Ilia, from which two people were seriously injured and taken to the hospital.
The first traffic accident took place on the Pyrgou-Patra National Highway, at the height of Kavasili. According to eyewitnesses, an elderly man in his attempt to cross the national highway with his car collided head-on with a passing car heading towards Patras. The accident injured the elderly driver of the first car, who was taken to the General Hospital of Ilia by an EKAV ambulance that rushed to the scene.
A second accident occurred at the junction of Patras and Papageorgiou streetswhen a woman driving her car on Patrons towards the exit of the city, collided with a car also driving on Patrons Street, in the opposite direction, under unspecified circumstances.
Another traffic accident was recorded on Agios Georgiou Street, a few meters away from the Tower Fire Department. A man lost control of the two-wheeler he was driving, causing him to fall onto the road and hit his head on the pavement.
An EKAB ambulance rushed to the spot and transported the bicyclist to “Andreas Papandreou”.
