The developments in the case of the murder of the cardiologist in Sitia are fast-paced, as the will of the appeals prosecutor of Chalkida changes the conditions under which his 43-year-old widow was released from prison in December, who was convicted in the first instance as the moral perpetrator of his murder.
The will orders the woman to move away from Sitia where the relatives of the murdered cardiologist are, who fell dead at the hands of her lover.
The decision orders the 43-year-old to move to Athens in order to have no contact with the victim’s family, while it is not known what will apply to the minor child the woman had with the unfortunate cardiologist, who was cited in her apology to Criminal Appeal Court of Eastern Crete requesting her release from prison to stand by his side.
The lawyer of the cardiologist’s family, speaking on the show “Truths with Zina”, explained that after the prosecutor’s appeal, the council met and called the accused.
She argued that she has a minor child and that she has shown good behavior and therefore should not return to prison. She even added that her intention is to leave Crete, as she recognizes that her presence provokes her husband’s family.
So the council decided that this statement shows a moral conversion and invited the 43-year-old to leave Crete and continue living in Athens.
Last November, the Court of Appeal found the 43-year-old guilty not of moral complicity, but of simple complicity, and so, after serving about five years of her sentence, she was released after a few days.
And for this part of the case, the prosecutor of Arius has appealed. The possibility that the 43-year-old will be referred to trial again is expected to be decided in October, as reported by the lawyer of the family of the unfortunate cardiologist.
