At last year’s Shanghai Motor Show in China, MG revealed the production version of the Cyberster, with the Chinese-owned company returning to its roots as it pays homage to classic British roadsters of the past.

With MG gearing up for its European launch, UK prices for the all-electric roadster have been revealed and orders are now open, with first deliveries scheduled for next August.

The Cyberster Trophy version with the single electric motor, mounted on the rear axle, is priced from £54,995 (€64,120), while the Cyberster GT version costs from £59,995 (€69,950), and like all MG models is backed by a comprehensive warranty 7 years, 80,000 miles (128,000 km).

The electric motor in the Cyberster Trophy produces 250 kW (340 hp) and 475 Nm of torque, and 0-100 km/h takes 5 seconds.

The Cyberster GT has two motors, one per axle, making it all-wheel drive. Its combined output is 375 kW (503 hp), with the front engine producing 150 kW (204 hp) and the rear 250 kW (340 hp), and 0-100 km/h comes in less than 3.2 seconds.

The energy is stored in a battery with a capacity of 77 kWh, and in the Trophy version its range is announced up to 509 km and in the GT up to 444 km (WLTP), as it has more focus on performance. It supports DC fast charging up to 150 kW, allowing charging from 10% to 80% in just 38 minutes.

The new MG roadster is 4,535 mm long, 1,913 mm wide. and a height of 1,329 mm, with a wheelbase of 2,690 mm. The dimensions of the car make it 620 mm. longer than the Mazda MX-5 (ND) and 211 mm. larger than the BMW Z4 (G29). The Cyberster weighs 1,850 kg.
