The price of gasoline skyrocketed just before the big exit for Easter

Started gradually the departure of the first excursions for the Easter holidays – among them many tourists – with the ships leaving Piraeus almost full, ahead of Holy Week.

According to information, 44 ships for the islands are expected to depart from the port of Piraeus today Friday: 19 for the Cyclades, Aegean islands and Crete, while 25 for the Argosaronic islands.

In fact, according to ERT, the occupancy of the ships even reaches 97%, a fact that demonstrates the mass flight of Athenians.

At the same time, according to the same information, people even carry lambs in their luggage, which proves the precision that exists in the islands.

As the figures show, the first boat for Paros – Naxos – Ios – Santorini left today at 7:30 in the morning with almost 100% occupancy.

At the same time, the boat for Syros, Tinos, Mykonos left the port of Piraeus with 75% occupancy.

In the meantime, there is also movement on KTEL buses, however the peak of excursion departures is expected until M. Saturday. In fact, throughout the Holy Week there will be special itineraries for several destinations.

At the same time, a big problem is the price of fuel, as, according to Mega, the crisis in the Middle East has shot up costs, resulting in a trip to both long-distance and short-distance destinations costing a fortune.

Indicative:

  • Athena: €2,039 (unleaded) – €1,702 (Diesel),
  • Milos: €2.4 (unleaded) – €2.020 (Diesel),
  • Crete: €2,180 (unleaded) – €1,840 (Diesel).

For example, to go from Athens to Thessaloniki or Halkidiki you will need to pay more than 200 euros.

Go – come: €219.54

Athens – Halkidiki:

What weather will Easter be like?

Holy Week is expected to be sunny until Wednesday (1/5) in most of the country, according to the forecast of weather by meteorologist Clearchos Marousakis.

North winds will prevail in the Aegean and the mercury will be close to 24-27 degrees Celsius.

Where will it rain?

However, as the meteorologist points out, from Maundy Thursday (2/5) disturbances from the western parts are approaching the country.

At the end of Holy Week and on Easter Sunday, it is very likely that we will encounter unsettled weather conditions mainly in western, central and northern Greece, with showers and local storms, with an emphasis on the midday and afternoon hours.

Weather conditions will be better, for anyone planning a getaway.

As the meteorologist points out, the weather, although unstable, is not expected to cause any significant problem and spoil the plans for Easter.
