Gathering today, Friday 26 April at 6 p.m. in Freedom Park (St. Concert Hall) and Pilimit to apartial Piresveiawith motto “Solidarity to the students in the USA! History has a right side – With Palestine to freedom!’ are carried out by Student Associations of Athens, following a proposal by those elected with the “Panspudasti KS”.
The students of Athens expressn solidarity their to its hundreds of students Columbiaof Yale and dozens more Universities in the USA who are protesting against the slaughter of the Palestinian people by the state of Israel. At the same time, Kcomplaintn the unacceptable repression against the students and the hundreds of arrests in which the police have proceeded.
As those elected with “Panspudastika” emphasize in a statement:
“Students are facing a modern witch hunt, facing persecution, suspension of their student status by the so-called “progressive” Biden administration, which at the same time is funding the Israeli occupation state with billions to continue the slaughter.
These “values” are shared by both the so-called “progressives” in the US and the governments of the European Union (EU), including the ND government in Greece, but also the other parties that drink water in the name of the EU, that absolve the crimes of the murderous state of Israel by calling the genocide of the Palestinian people “the right to self-defense”. With the responsibility of all these, the country actively participates in the wars and the massacre of the people of Palestine, even sending frigates to the Middle East!
Developments in Universities that are considered world-leading, confirm exactly that the owners are in charge of the University-businesswho don’t even hesitate to arrest students when they get in the way of their businesses. We remind you that in Columbia the University administration suspended the operation of (!!) 2 Student Associations for holding events for Palestine, “repeatedly violating the Foundation’s operating rules.” In October 2023 at Harvard the names and photos of students of the Foundation who signed a resolution condemning Israel and supporting Palestine were published!!
These actions and the repression of the students is explained by considering that:

Yale alone has been given 1.3 billion dollars by Israeli companies, in total the donations from Israeli companies to American Universities exceed 25 billion dollars.

Israeli billionaires are even members of Foundation Boards (eg billionaire shipowner Idan Ofer).

The financial aspirations of American businesses for this are enormous and they generously support the murderous state of Israel, as well as the American government, which a few days ago approved another 26.3 billion dollars for the “undivided support of Israel”, i.e. for the killing Palestinians.
Just because it’s “a lot of money”, that’s why students “have to sit tight”, for the interests of governments and businesses. This is why there is no freedom of speech, no freedom of movement of ideas, as we also warned with our great fight against private Universities and the even greater commercialization of our studies!
But the youth and the people of the whole world have proven that they are on the right side of history, they firmly express their solidarity with the Palestinian people! It is this message sent by the people that frightens governments and all those who participate and/or support imperialist crimes! The truth is not silenced, no matter how much they try to suppress it!
Uniting our voices with students across the US, who continue their struggle despite threats of delisting and sanctions, who stand smiling and with their heads held high despite arrests. We strengthen the struggle through our Student Associations against the ever deeper involvement of our country in wars and slaughter. We do NOT accept paying HALF A MILLION EUROS a day for the frigate “Hydra” to sail to the Middle East, to participate in crimes!
Students all over the world, we are a fist against the imperialist designs – the genocide of the Palestinian people!
Because we know that “if you want to be called a man, you will never stop fighting for the right”.
We require:
Stop the arrests and repression against students now!
To stop the involvement of our country in the wars and the slaughter of the Palestinian people!
