Today, the taxisnet platform will be opened for the submission of this year’s tax returns, as announced by the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Haris Theoharis, speaking on the ERT TV show “Syndeses”.

“What we’re doing this year, which I think is a very positive gesture, is that we’re extending a hand of confidence to accountants and taxpayers who do their own returns. That is, we say that precisely because, customarily because it does not exist in the law, we open every year around March 31. But this year, because we had to legislate the automatic submission of declarations on behalf of the taxpayer, an important innovation, and it took a few days, it was voted last week, it got gazetted on Monday and therefore the AADE to make the adjustments had to wait for the vote she. These days we took in April, we give them in advance in July. Therefore the deadline that was for June 30 will go to 25-26, as many days as we have taken since April. And in this way we say that we recognize our own obligations. We give these days and on the other hand we expect the responsibility of the accountants and taxpayers to be recognized and to complete this process within the times we give, because there will be no further extension» noted Mr. Theoharis.

For income tax

At the same time, he said that the platform for statements will remain open until July 25 and that the first installment of income tax should be paid by July 31, 2024 and for 8 installments until February. He also reminded that if someone pays the entire amount of income tax in one go, he will get a 3% discount. The percentage of the deduction for the tax has been voted, this does not change, he clarified. “We will see if we need to review this system (in tax returns) next year.” We have some thoughts, ideas for this but this is still under discussion with the relevant minister. In any case, for this year we voted exactly the same logic that applied in previous years ” write down.

For self-employed deemed income

He also talked about the imputed income of freelancers. “Anyone challenging the presumption must prove that their lifestyle matches the income they say they have. So he says that he didn’t even have an income of 10,000 euros. OK, accepted. Let’s go see. Does he live on 2,000 a year? lives on 3,000 a year? That should prove it to us. So this proves to be a mini pothen esches, mini maxi, call it what you will. So the way of life must also match what you say you declare[…] Look at the other person telling me that I live on 3,000 euros and making trips abroad and living a life with cars, etc. obviously it will not be acceptable” he said and clarified that “there is no termination issue. But at the moment when someone is checked the AADE has rules. When a check is made for a period/a use then obviously the same data cannot be returned. They are elementary rules».
