After all, Kyriakos Mitsotakis gave an interview of the prime minister to SKAI. Referring to the number one issue highlighted by society itself, which is none other than accuracy, the Prime Minister emphasizes that “if there was a magic formula, some other country would have found it”. In the meantime, he makes a turn in his words, now saying that accuracy “is not only imported (…)” he recognizes that it is a “big problem” focusing on “persistent food inflation”.

Supermarkets: Private label push despite modest price hikes

Blessing his beard, he emphasizes that “the economy is doing well, wages are increasing. And the middle and the bottom. Taxes have come down significantly, so we have more disposable income. Emergency aid exists, to the extent that the economy can withstand it, with an emphasis on the most vulnerable, which is why we emphasize structural measures.”

He noted that inflation is beginning to show signs of abating, but acknowledges that supermarket prices are 30% higher, on average, than they were three years ago. Regarding the fines, he noted that they are being paid.

According to the prime minister, competition and the e-Consumer platform are answers to accuracy. “Competition is an answer, as is the sensitized consumer, as are tools such as the “e-Consumer”, which we will reintroduce in an improved version, where the consumer will be able to log in and see for 3,000 codes which supermarket has the cheapest “basket”. The competition also worked on the electricity bill, because we talk a lot about the supermarket, but the supermarket is statistically 22% of a household’s expenses. We didn’t talk at all about energy, where prices in some cases are lower,” he said.

Greece is not going to send Ukraine either S-300 or Patriot

Regarding another publication of the “Financial Times”, Kyriakos Mitsotakis clarifies that Greece is not going to send Ukraine either S-300 or Patriot, confirming however that “we were asked and we explained why we cannot do it”.

Let me explain it in a little more detail, he says: “Greece has supported Ukraine in various ways, with defense material. But we have said from the first moment that we cannot dispose of weapons systems which are critical to our deterrent capability.

We have surplus material with which we can support Ukraine, we have done so and I think it is the right choice. And, to the extent that we can find such material, we will continue to do so.

However, the air defense systems you mentioned are critical systems for the protection of Greek airspace and will not be granted to Ukraine.”

“There have always been parties to the right of the ND that gathered a not inconsiderable percentage, in Europe there is a tendency to strengthen the extreme right as a whole, for reasons that have no reference to Greece. The main reason it is rising in Europe is immigration. In our country, we reduced migration flows to a minimum, we guarded our borders, we built the fence on the Evros”, he says.

The prime minister emphasizes that there are “few celebrities” participating in the New Democracy’s European ballot and sets the benchmark for the June 9 electoral battle at 33.1%, a percentage that New Democracy received in the previous European elections, in May 2019. level of parliamentarians set the goal of electing as many MEPs as possible from the ND “because the arithmetic the next day matters as a broad alliance of measure and logic must be formed in the European Parliament to promote the big changes in Europe: competitiveness, defense, agricultural issues”.

Not in early elections

If the result of the European elections is not so good, he says that “the government will not collapse, our life will just become a little more difficult” ruling out that elections will be called.

The interview began with yesterday’s detours in the Parliament, with the Prime Minister noting the immediate reaction of the President of the Parliament.

The far right apartment building

The prime minister placed three parties in the far-right apartment building. “Each of these three parties in a different form represents something extreme,” he said.

He emphasized that the “Spartans” were excluded from the electoral process by a decision of the Supreme Court which steps on a regulation that the ND voted for and supported in parliament and also through memoranda, “when some others forgot to submit them”, clarifying that it also refers to SYRIZA .

“Fascism cannot be fought with words alone, it must be fought with actions. We were on the right side of history in this case,” he pointed out.

The prime minister described as unacceptable and divisive the statements of the president of the Hellenic Solution, Kyriakos Velopoulos, regarding the visits of politicians to the holy temples, ahead of Easter.

Tempi: I have confidence in the Greek Justice

Regarding Tempi, Mr. Mitsotakis mentions that going back in time, certain things could be done differently. “I’m not referring, above all, to handling on the field.

I am referring mainly to the communication and tolerance we have shown to the various conspiracy theories, which unfortunately rooted and convinced a large part of our fellow citizens. That there was a “bazoma” or “debazoma”, because you see that the terminologies change every three or so… As far as I know, and I think I know enough, there is absolutely nothing. But this will ultimately be decided by the Court. No one will believe or few will believe what I will say. They will, however, believe the Justice and the experts who came in, and second ones, to confirm what the first expert said about this incident,” he points out.
