“Let’s turn our passion into action” – Honor to Petros Themelis and Yiannis Christopoulos from the 10th Experimental Primary School

I was moved by the memory of Yannis Christopoulos, about three months after his death, at the event held last night at the 10th Experimental Primary School of Kalamata, for the naming of the event hall after him and for the renaming of the school to the 10th Experimental Primary School Kalamata “Petros Themelis”, which was a proposal of Yiannis Christopoulos, but he did not have time to see it implemented…

Speakers referred to the important work of Petros Themelis, not only in Ancient Messinia, and his contribution to Messinia, while for Yiannis Christopoulos, his love for the school, his selflessness, his struggles for democracy and the center-left, the his work in self-government.

The event began with a greeting from the school’s director, Dorothea Lambridis, who of course could not hide her emotion when she mentioned Yiannis Christopoulos, while among others they mentioned Yiannis Christopoulos, and Petros Themelis, with their greetings, the mayor of Kalamata, Thanasis Vassilopoulos, the deputy governor of Messinia, Stathis Anastasopoulos, the head of the majority minority, a member of whose combination was Yannis Christopoulos, Vassilis Tzamouranis.

The director of Primary Education of Messinia, Theofaneia Sioutis, made a special speech for Yiannis Christopoulos, who referred to the character of Yiannis Christopoulos, his path in life, which started from Avlona Trifylias, his faith in the center-left, his love and his passion for the school, his organizational and managerial charisma, the relationships of respect and trust with his colleagues, without failing to point out that he did not submit the flag of his personal positions even when his political or trade union body was against it, as for the issues of teacher evaluation and the establishment of the Experimental Primary School.

The professor of the Department of Philology of the University School of Kalamata, Dimitra Delli, spoke about the personality and work of Petros Themelis.

Among others, the architect Tonia Kouzi, who announced that she will create the architectural study for the upgrade of the “Yiannis Christopoulos” events hall, and from the school’s Parents’ Association, Yannis Kolovos, who, without being specific, asked for commitments from the mayor and the deputy governor that there will be projects at the school that he said they had planned with Yiannis Christopoulos

It is noted that the president of the regional committee of model and experimental schools, Maria Xesternou, speaking with emotion about Petros Themelis and Yiannis Christopoulos, called on the students to follow their example, not to let obstacles stop them, not to pretend obstacles in order to stop trying and make their passion a reality.
