A new increase of 5.9% was recorded in the prices of building materials as a whole in March this year, as of the individual categories of materials, prices moved downward only in electricity.
In particular, price increases were recorded in: Bricks (13.2%), Safety glass panels (9.7%), Plastic pipes (8.3%), Copper conductors (7.8%), Heaters (7.5%), Plastic, synthetic, fiber cement pipes (7.4%), Solar water heaters (7.3%), Marble tiles (7.1%), Parquet (7.1%), Switches (6.8%), Cement (6, 4%), Wooden wardrobes (6.4%), Tiles in general – floor, wall (6.3%), Aluminum frames (6.2%), Mortar and ready-mixed concrete reinforcements (5.7%), Plastic, acrylic , water (4.9%), ready-mixed concrete (4.4%) and rebar (3.6%). On the contrary, a price reduction of 4.6% was recorded in Electricity.
As announced by ELSTAT, the general price index of materials for the construction of new residential buildings showed an increase of 5.9% in March 2024 compared to the corresponding index of March 2023, against an increase of 8.9% noted when comparing the corresponding indices in 2023 with in 2022.
While, the general index showed an increase of 0.4% in March 2024 compared to the index of February 2024, against an increase of 0.5% recorded when comparing the corresponding months in 2023.
