Penultimate day for high school students today: What is planned for internal exams, results and the special exam period

Penultimate day of classes today Thursday April 25th for students as schools close tomorrow Friday for the Easter holidays.

On Monday, May 13, the students return to their schools again, and as for the High School students, they are expected to take the intra-school exam schedule on the same day, as their classes end on Thursday, May 16, and on Friday, May 17 no teaching takes place and the Association of Teachers decides on the characterization of the course.

According to the program of the Ministry of Education, the final exams of the students of the 3rd grade of Day and Evening GE.L. and Lyceum E.A.E. will be held from Monday, May 20 to Monday, May 27, whilea results will be announced to students no later than Wednesday 29 May 2024.

The promotional exams of the students of the 1st and 2nd grade of the Day and Evening G.E.L. and Lyceum E.A.E. will be held from Monday 20 May to Friday 14 June, while the results will be announced to students no later than Friday 21 June.

According to Article 105 of Law 4610/2019 (A’ 70), as amended by Law 4692/2020 (A’ 111), a special examination period is planned during the second fortnight of June, for students who are excused from taking a course exam due to illness or any other reason and for students of the 3rd grade of the General Lyceum who do not achieve the G.M.O..

The publication of the results, after the special exam period in June, will take place until Tuesday, June 25.

Within two (2) working days from the publication of the results of both examination periods, the guardians of the students or themselves, if they are adults, can submit an application to the school where they attend, requesting the regrading of one or more papers of essays. The application is accompanied by the prescribed fee for each written essay.

Students with disabilities and special educational needs, for whom an oral exam is planned instead of a written one, may, if they wish, request a re-examination of the courses that were examined. The application for reconsideration is submitted by the guardians of the students or by themselves, if they are adults, to the school within two (2) days of the issuance of the results. The application is accompanied by the prescribed fee for each course for which a review is requested.
