At a protest rally in Ministry of Labor, today Thursday, at 12 noon, they call Unions of Employees at “Thriasio” and “Evangelismos” Hospitals, implementing the decisions/proposals of the last joint meeting held by the Employee Unions in the hospitals of Attica.
Today’s protest rally is taking place on the occasion of April 28 – World Day for Health and Safety at Work and while labor “accidents” are becoming a daily occurrence in workplaces, with dozens of dead and maimed.
In this context, the unions claim essential measures for the protection of health and safety in the Health units. Recruitment of permanent doctors and work nurses and security technicians. Inclusion in Heavy Unhealthy Occupations of all those who work in corresponding conditions. Repeal of the anti-insurance laws of ND, SYRIZA and PASOK and reduction of retirement age limits. Mass recruitment of permanent staff and permanentization of contract workers to stop intensification. Application of 5 days – 6 hours – 30 hours with 1 on-call per week for doctors and 1 night shift for those who work circular hours. Increasing the unhealthy allowance and extending it to all workers in public health units.
