In front of the investigator today, the MP Konstantinos Floros

Today Thursday, at noon, the independent Member of Parliament and former member of the “Spartans” Konstantinos Floros, charged with a felony for the attack inside the Parliament, at the expense of the Hellenic Solution MP Vassilis Grammenos.

After the deadline given to him by the investigator, Mr. Floros remains a prisoner and is called upon to give an explanation for the violent and despicable attack against MP Grammenos. The incident, which led to the injury of Mr. Grammenos, caused the president of the Parliament, Costas Tasoulas, to immediately activate the spontaneous procedure, resulting in the arrest of Mr. Floros.

According to medical assessments, Mr. Grammenos suffered fractures to the nasal bones, sprained jaw, traumatic ligament rupture of the wrist and forearm, with doctors recommending recovery for 10 days. Despite this, Mr. Floros denies responsibility for the injury.

The advocate of Mr. Floros, Vaso Pantazi, states that the incident was preceded by a “vulgar verbal attack” by the victim towards the accused. At the same time, Mrs. Pantazi, expressing surprise at the criminal charge against Mr. Floros, spoke of “legal exaggeration” over an unfortunate personal incident.

The timeline of the attack

The reason for the episode was the discussion in the Plenary of the Parliament of the lifting of the immunity of the president of the Hellenic Solution, Kyriakos Velopoulos, whose case related to defamation through a false account on a social network submitted by an officer of the Navy.

Mr. Floros, whose father had brought the lawsuit against Mr. Velopoulos, had requested to take the floor in the Plenary, however the regulation did not allow it and he was not given it, reacting to the petition of the parliamentary representative of the Hellenic Solution, Konstantinos Chitas, for carbine pre-election political expediency which, although it does not concern Mr. Velopoulos, requested the lifting of his immunity in order to appear before his natural judge.

When the two men went out of the Plenary, Mr. Floros attacked him, grabbed him by the neck, punched him and threw him to the floor. It is noted that Mr. Grammenos, according to the same information, had filed a lawsuit against Mr. Floros’ father for defamation through the press and insult.

Who is Konstantinos Floros who punched the Hellenic Solution MP in Parliament

Konstantinos Floros was a member of the “Spartans” Parliamentary Group until February 4, 2023, when he became independent with a letter to the Speaker of the Parliament, Konstantinos Tassoulas. He was born on March 7, 1991, originally from Livadia and was elected MP for Larissa.

He is a TEE graduate in the field of Informatics, where he continued and completed his studies in D.IEK in 2009. He speaks excellent English. He served in the period 2009-2010 his military service in the Navy. He worked for 13 years in the IT field, specifically in the field of Telecommunications and Networks, with an excellent career in very large and important companies.

As he states in his biography, he has been involved in politics since his student years, mainly due to his strong feelings for our country, and especially from 2016 until today, having gained many important experiences. He has contributed to several social and philanthropic actions, as well as being present at large rallies (Indignant, Macedonian, against Mandatory, Health, in favor of “No” in the referendum).
