In effect from today, April 25, the festive opening hours of commercial stores, while on Sunday, April 28, the shops will be open.

THE Commercial Association of Athens announced the proposed opening hours of commercial stores in Athens for the Easter holiday season and on this occasion the president of the association Stavros Kafounis said:

“After her documented evidence ELSTAT for the Athens Chamber of Commerce index which registers a 3% decline in the fourth quarter of 2023 for small shops operating with haplographic books and after three difficult months at the beginning of 2024, I wish and hope that this festive season marks the beginning of increase in purchasing traffic.

An increase that we expect and hope will be achieved not only in the areas that record a lot of tourist traffic, but also in the neighborhood markets which must be supported by the local community. The stores of the center and the regional markets of Athens are waiting for consumers to do their Easter shopping, with full shelves and attractive prices. Happy Resurrection and Happy Easter to the whole world.”

It’s holiday time continuous from 9 am to 9 pm from Thursday April 25 and Sunday April 28 the association’s shops are proposed to operate from 11 am to 4 pm.

  • For Holy Week from Holy Monday to Holy Thursday opening hours are continuous 9am to 9pm, Good Friday from 1pm to 7pm and Holy Saturday from 9am to 3pm.
  • On Easter Sunday, Monday and Tuesday stores will be closed. They will be closed on Tuesday due to his transfer celebration of May Day.
