The Athens Chamber of Commerce announced the proposed opening hours of the commercial stores in Athens that will be valid for the Easter holiday period and on this occasion the president of the association Stavros Kafounis said: “According to ELSTAT’s documented data for the Athens Chamber of Commerce index the which are down 3% in the fourth quarter of 2023 for small book stores and after a difficult three months at the beginning of 2024, I wish and hope that this holiday season will mark the beginning of an increase in shopping traffic we expect and hope that it will be achieved not only in the areas that record a lot of tourist traffic, but also in the district markets which must be supported by the local community.The shops of the center and regional markets of Athens are waiting for consumers to do their Easter shopping, with full shelves and attractive prices. Festive hours
The hours proposed by the association are continuous from 9 am to 9 pm from Thursday April 25 and Sunday April 28, the association’s shops are proposed to operate from 11 am to 4 pm.
For the Holy Week from Holy Monday to Holy Thursday, the good that is proposed is continuous from 9 am to 9 pm, on Good Friday from 1 pm to 7 pm and on Holy Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm at noon.
On Easter Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, the shops will be closed. On Tuesday they will be closed due to the postponement of the May Day celebration.
