With the aim of raising the awareness of young people in philanthropy and the protection of the environment, the informative activity “LEARN-SUPPORT-RESPECT” continued today with the participation in this event of male and female students from the primary schools of Bodosakeios, Piramaticos, 7u Elementary as well as 1u high school

In the event held in the “Manolis Karellis” room in the Androgeo building on Wednesday morning, the interest of the young children regarding the care of stray and controlled animals as well as the protection of the environment was reaffirmed, which were shared with them by specialized and experienced volunteers and employees of the Municipality of Heraklion.

For the students of the schools located outside the city, the information activities take place on the premises of the school unit.

It is reminded that the specific actions are implemented by the Directorate of Education, Culture and Youth, (Department of Culture, Sports, Youth and Volunteering). Also, as part of World Environment Day, on June 5, a special event will be organized (Musical Performance “Dog on the Street”) to raise awareness among the youth and the general public as well as awareness events. At the same time, volunteer networking activities will be organized on October 4, within the framework of World Animal Day. Finally, a special informative activity on philanthropy and the environment will be organized for children with hearing problems.

These actions are organized with the support of the Deputy Mayors:
