A serious accident overshadowed the new movie “The Pickup” from Amazon MGM Studios, starring Eddie Murphy. In particular, the Hollywood Reporter cited sources who say that during the filming of a scene “unfortunately, the sequence did not go as planned, resulting in several crew members being injured.”

On Tuesday, April 23, the Associated Press (AP) reported that it was a traffic accident that occurred when a truck “locked up” and hit another vehicle, sending two people to the hospital. An unnamed source cited by the AP said: “It was an absolutely horrific accident” and revealed that “injuries ranged from bumps and bruises to broken bones.”
According to sources close to the production, as reported by Deadline, the film’s director and producer, Tim Story, was not on the set when the accident occurred.
The IATSE union said in a statement: “IATSE has become aware of an accident that occurred on the Georgia set of ‘The Pickup’ and has launched an investigation.”
