Frame by frame the route of the death convoy of the criminal organization that left Piraeus on the evening of December 7, loaded with ammunition, for the Melina Mercouris stadium in Rentis, -where the policeman Lyggeridis was murdered- is captured in the video included in the case file and presents newsit.gr.
As can be seen in the material taken before the murder of the police officer in Renti, 10 motorbikes and 4 cars have been recorded, for which in the case file it is stated that “Around 18:30, approximately 35-40 people, who were riding in 10-15 motorcycles and four 4 I.X.E. cars, of which 3 were white and 1 red, were gathered…”.
As it can be seen, after placing the “warfare” inside the cars, they formed a convoy “protecting” – accompanying, the motorcycles the cars and moved in an organized and coordinated manner towards the venue of the match.
Initially, they moved along Karaoli & Dimitriou Street, turned right onto Piraeus Street to the point of the National Road and then turned left into Kifisos Street, until they took the right exit for Agios Ioannis Rentis, arriving at the “Melina Merkouri” stadium around 19:45″.
It is worth pointing out that the voluminous case file, which numbers approximately 5,500 pages, includes rich video material that captures the movements of the perpetrators from which the police, through the analysis at the Forensic Laboratories of EL.AS, were able to identify them.
And, as revealed by newsit.gr, a usb played a decisive role, which gave a “deep throat” to EL.AS, on Sunday, February 18, 2024, 73 days after the murderous attack, which effectively “unlocked” the case and gave the authorities plate the criminal organization. As stated in the case file, the police, after scanning all the footage from the cameras in the area – as it is pointed out in the report, they even took footage from a coffin manufacturing shop (!) – at 14:50 at noon on February 18 after the mysterious informant’s phone call , they saw light in the underground tunnel of the criminal group that operated on the organized fans.
The legal point of view
Those arrested were brought to the prosecutor’s office this morning (24/4/24) where they were given a deadline to apologize. The lawyer of 8 of the defendants, Mr. Alexandros Papaioannidis, speaking to newsit.gr, points out that today they are expected to receive all of the material from the case file – including the digital material – in order to determine the line of defense.
However, with the data so far, as the well-known criminologist underlines, it does not appear that his principals were involved.
