Heraklion football “froze” after the tragic death of the 34-year-old Antonis Apostolakis in Thessaloniki, after falling from the White Tower.
Antonis Apostolakis was one of the biggest talents of Heraklion football and Ergoteliswhere he competed with a great bunch of players in Martinego (Anogianakis, Karelis, Sarris, Domatas, Kavousakis, etc.) coached by Vassilis Plesitis, but he was also a key member of the Mixed Teams of EPSI.
In fact, the last Panhellenic Championship that Mikti Neos won was with him in its composition, winning in 2008 with 2-1 against Serres at the Kaisarianis stadium. Antonis Apostolakis was even the scorer of the winning goal just before the end of the final!
A few years later a very serious car accident that forced him to fight for his life left him out of football and therefore he did not have the great career that was predicted in the first years of his presence on the pitches.
In the last years he was active professionally in Heraklion and also in Thessaloniki. There he was supposed to take his last breath…
