“I live by a miracle” – Documentary video of the 23-year-old’s abduction in Ilion

A video document captures the moment when the 23-year-old victim of a hit-and-run accident in Ilion tries to cross a crosswalk, when a black jeep hits her, throws her to the ground and continues on its way. It is unimaginable that the driver, although he has hit a pedestrian, does not even stop to see if he is alive or if he needs help.

Everything happened shortly after 11.20, Sunday evening (21/4) in Ilion. The 23-year-old girl is trying to cross Thivon Avenue from a crosswalk. In the middle of the route, the traffic light turns green for cars and what happened is that the black jeep crashes head-on into the 23-year-old.

“He didn’t understand how it happened. Suddenly he tells me: “I was walking and I felt that someone touched me quickly and the world turned around me and I fell down, and then I woke up and the ambulance came.” He has stepped on her feet and hit her with the mirror, elbowed her and her hand is swollen,” said the friend of the 23-year-old.

“The woman fell down like a playing card that can be seen in the video and this man continued his course normally, at least 800 meters, I don’t know how many meters it was, he didn’t stop, completely ignorant,” he added.

Unfortunately for him, a delivery driver followed him, then stopped him and immediately called the police, who proceeded to arrest him.

“With 40-50 kilometers, I don’t know how much the man was going at that time. He didn’t stop anywhere. They stopped him 400-500 meters down at the cemetery. If it was a fraction of a second, because one second is a long time, right now we would be talking about a disabled girl. I don’t even know if she was even alive,” said the young woman’s friend.

The girl is still in shock. She was taken to the hospital for first aid while what she is asking for is the exemplary punishment of the 49-year-old driver who abandoned her in the middle of the road.

“If there weren’t 2-3 people over there and 4-5 other witnesses on the stand, it’s really possible that no one would have helped her. There is no mercy in this situation,” said the friend of the 23-year-old.

Both the 23-year-old woman and the 49-year-old driver were subjected to a breathalyzer test, which came back negative.

The young girl and victim of the traffic accident, speaking to MEGA about his health condition, said that he feels some intense pain, while

“Sunday night, I was crossing the crosswalk, at the moment the ‘little man’ was green, then it turned red and one goes by and hits me, causing me to fall down and lose consciousness, I passed out.

“Then I woke up and saw the whole world on top of me. We called an ambulance and Traffic, which came within seconds. He completely abandoned me, he didn’t stop at all, he didn’t stop to see if I needed first aid, he didn’t even care and I really live by a miracle”
