The meteorologist Yiannis Kallianos in his post refers to the state of his father’s health in tears and writes characteristically: Today half of my life was cut off. I still hope that with the help of the Virgin Mary, the rest will not be cut. They will pay dearly for what they did to my father.
Specifically as he describes: “I want to say some things not to make you feel sorry for me but to expose some people who have brought my family to this situation. My father has many health problems as he is also on dialysis and has diabetes. 15 days ago he entered Voula as he blackened his finger since he has a diabetic finger.
He was treated very well in Voula but was told that such big issues cannot be treated properly and he should be in another hospital. My father went to this hospital and had his big toe amputated. For the next five days he was doing well. On the sixth day he was full. My brother is a doctor in Cyprus and he came and saw him and told him to get on the platform and be admitted to the ICU.
The doctors told me that we all sign that Mr. Kallianos is fine. My brother begged them to put him in MAF.
“My tears have dried up. I begged them to put him in an ICU. Finally, my father pulled out today and was intubated. Because what my father went through, many people will have gone through, they can’t imagine what they have to go through from me and my brother. Things are difficult but I hope he succeeds. He had no oxygen at all and a nurse came by every 4 hours.”
