Today is World Book Day. Purpose, the promotion and promotion of reading – and not only. World Book Day is also a celebration of publishers and copyright.

The date of April 23 was first chosen in 1925 (almost a hundred years ago) by Catalan booksellers because it coincided with the death date of Miguel de Cervantes.

In 1995, UNESCO established April 23rd as World Book Day because it coincides with the death of another classic of international letters: William Shakespeare.

Shakespeare and Cervantes died on April 23, 1616, and this fact gives special symbolic weight to World Book Day, which invites young people to discover the pleasure of reading, realizing the magnitude of its contribution to the social and cultural development of humanity.
