The Labor Center of Katerini has repeatedly sounded the alarm about occupational accidents and disasters and has emphasized that the safety of workers in the workplace is non-negotiable.
Unfortunately yesterday at noon another colleague was injured while working and now there is not a week in this country without a work accident or accident, also a result of the intensification in many workplaces.
This is a recent colleague, who while performing work as a clerk operator, without having been clarified whether he was the holder of the relevant license, was seriously injured. It should finally be understood on all sides that the operator’s profession has a high degree of danger and it is necessary that all safety rules be observed.
The Technical Department of SEPE Pieria, which is also the responsible agency for health and safety in the workplace, and the police must immediately carry out a thorough investigation of all aspects of this occupational accident. Once again we will repeat and emphasize that strict preventive measures are necessary and the technical department of SEPE of our Prefecture to intensify and thicken controls, imposing sanctions and severe fines when the necessary and prescribed by law measures are not observed protection.
We won’t stop saying it. Measures here and now. To clarify the causes of the last accident and of all those that have preceded it and to attribute responsibilities where they are appropriate.
