If the weather allows it, then today Monday (22.4.2024) a lot of people will have the opportunity to enjoy the first rain of shooting stars of Spring.
These are the Lyrids, the first shooting star shower of Spring that lasts from April 16th to April 26th and usually peaks on April 22nd.
The director of EMY, Thodoris Kolidas, explains the phenomenon and notes that “their radiant point is located in the constellation Lyra, close to the brightest star of this constellation, α Lyra (commonly known as Vegas)”.

The Lyrids are a meteor shower that lasts from April 16th to April 26th each year and usually peaks around April 22nd each year. Their radiant point is in the constellation Lyra, near the brightest star of that constellation, α Lyra (commonly known as Vegas).”
