The new week begins with a new wave of African dust and muddy rain, while at the same time high temperatures remain, with meteorologists even talking about 35 degrees Celsius.

According to the weather forecast from EMY for today Monday (22/4), the meteorological conditions favor the transport of African dust, which in the south will show increased concentrations in the atmosphere. Sparse clouds at intervals thicker with local rains.

Visibility in the morning hours in the western continental areas will be locally limited.

Gradual prevalence of east southeast winds with strengthened intensities in the south country locally at 6 to 7 and at sea up to 8 Beaufort.

The temperature will rise mainly in the west and south. It will reach 20 to 22 degrees in the north, 23 to 25 in the rest of the continent and 26 to 28 degrees Celsius in Crete.

MACEDONIA, THRACE

Weather: Thin clouds that will gradually thicken. Local rains will occur from late afternoon.

Winds: Variable 3 to 4, in the morning hours locally northwest to 5 Beaufort and from noon-afternoon southeast.

Temperature: From 10 to 20 and in central Macedonia up to 22 degrees Celsius. In western Macedonia 2 to 3 degrees lower.

IONIAN ISLANDS, EPIROS, WEST STEREA, WEST PELOPONNISOS

Weather: Sparse clouds, occasionally thicker, with local rains of short duration initially in the south and gradually in the rest of the areas.

Winds: From easterly directions 3 to 5 and gradually locally to the south 6 to 7 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 13 to 23 and in the south up to 25 degrees Celsius. In the interior of Epirus 2 to 3 degrees lower.

EASTERN STEREA, EVIA, EASTERN PELOPONNISOS

Weather: Sparse clouds, occasionally thicker, with local rains of short duration initially in the south and gradually in the rest of the areas.

Winds: Variable 3 to 4 Beaufort. From the morning hours of eastern directions 4 to 5, locally in the southernmost 6 to 7 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 13 to 24 and in the south up to 25 degrees Celsius.

CYCLADES, CRETE

Weather: Scattered clouds, occasionally thicker, with local rains mainly in the Cyclades until noon.

Winds: Until the morning hours in Crete east southeast 4 to 6 and in the Cyclades southwest 3 to 5 Beaufort. Then east southeast 6 to 7, gradually local to 8 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 16 to 24 and in Crete up to 26 to 28 degrees Celsius.

EAST AEGEAN ISLANDS – DODECANISE

Weather: Scattered clouds, occasionally thicker, with a few local rains of short duration.

Winds: From south directions 3 to 5 and gradually southeast to south 6 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 14 to 22 and in the south up to 24 degrees Celsius.

THESSALY

Weather: Scattered clouds, occasionally thicker, with a few local showers of short duration from midday.

Winds: Variable 3 to 4 and from midday easterlies to 5 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 10 to 21 degrees Celsius.

ATTICA

Weather: Scattered clouds, occasionally thicker. A few local rains of short duration are expected mainly in the morning and evening hours.

Winds: Variable 3 to 4 and from the morning hours east southeast, gradually to 5 Beaufort.

Temperature: From 14 to 23 degrees Celsius.

THESSALONIKI

Weather: Thin clouds that will gradually thicken. Local rains will occur from the evening.

Winds: Northwest 3 to 4, in the morning until 5 and from the afternoon southeast.

Temperature: From 12 to 22 degrees Celsius.

FORECAST FOR TOMORROW, TUESDAY 04-23-2024

In the central and northern continental areas and temporarily in the Ionian, the rest of the continental areas and the northern Aegean are predicted to be cloudy with rain. Isolated storms will occur in the central and northern continental areas mainly in the midday and afternoon hours.

In the rest of the country, sparse clouds temporarily thicker.

Meteorological conditions favor the transport of African dust with increased concentrations in the atmosphere.

Winds will blow east northeast 4 to 6 and south southeast 7 to 8 Beaufort. From the afternoon gradually in the west they will turn to northwesterly 4 to 6 and in the Ionian locally 7 Beaufort.

The temperature will rise mainly in the west and south. It will reach 21 to 23 degrees in the north, 24 to 27 in the rest of the country and locally 29 to 30 degrees Celsius in northern Crete.

FORECAST FOR WEDNESDAY 04-24-2024

In the west, central and northern continental areas, clouds are forecast to temporarily increase with a few local rains until the afternoon. Isolated storms will develop in the northwest during the early morning hours and again during the night.

In the rest of the country, sparse clouds temporarily thicker in the southern Aegean.

Meteorological conditions favor the transport of African dust mainly to the east and south.

Winds in the west, central and north will blow from west directions 4 to 6 Beaufort. In the rest of the areas they will initially blow from south directions 4 to 6 and locally in the eastern Aegean 7 to 8, but they will quickly weaken and turn to west southwest 3 to 5 and in the south 5 to 6 Beaufort.

The temperature will drop slightly in the west.

FORECAST FOR THURSDAY 04-25-2024

Initially in the west and gradually in the north, clouds are predicted to temporarily increase with local rains until the afternoon. Isolated storms will develop in the west during the morning hours.

In the rest of the country, sparse clouds, temporarily denser and gradually generally clear weather.

The winds will blow from west directions 3 to 5 and on the seas, mainly in the south, 4 to 6 Beaufort.

The temperature will fall.

FORECAST FOR FRIDAY 04-26-2024

Generally clear weather and only in the midday and afternoon hours in the north will local clouds develop and there will be local rain or showers.

Winds will blow from west directions 3 to 5 and in the south locally up to 6 Beaufort. From the afternoon they will gradually turn to north-northwesterly winds with the same intensity.

The temperature will rise across the country.
