A particularly important event for him culture and history of Agriniothrough which the power of print and its imprint over time.
This special event will be tribute to eleven veterans of local journalism who have passed awaybut they left an indelible mark on the area.
Personal testimonies will be heard through which the life, but also the valuable work of these eleven persons will be outlined.
The late publishers to whom the event is dedicated are: Panagiotis Vlasopoulos, Quick Stavropoulos, George Anastasopoulos, Vassilis Kridas, Andreas Kanis, Theodoros Liapikos, Sotiris Babanis, George Vlachopoulos, Sakellaris Alahouzos, Lazaros Arachovitis and the former newspaper agent Dimitris Albanis.
They searched for the news, evaluated it and captured its essence on paper. Self-explanatory terms, but now hard to find, of the operation they did. They were the people who constantly proved in practice that the journalistic ethical approach to an event could correctly and clearly capture the news, while at the same time all of them loved their place and with the general good as their guiding principle, they worked so that the local society would evolve.
The coordinator of the event, journalist and publisher Nikos Kanis, speaking to “S” about the event, noted: “is an event of memory and honor to eleven deceased people of the press. It will take place next Monday 22.04.24 at Papastrateio Megaro Agrini at 07.00 pm. afternoon. The title of the event is: “Honoring the memory of departed veterans of the local press”.
After the event, there will be a guided tour of the exhibition space of the Papastrateion Megaro, where each visitor will have the opportunity to see the front pages of the newspapers that made history in the local, Athenian and international press. The exhibition will last until Friday 26.04.24 and has been fully curated by Vlasis Albanis.
