Arrests of organized fans have begun for the murder of the 31-year-old policeman Lyggeridis

An ELAS operation has been underway since Monday morning for the murderous attack on the MAT police officer, George Lyggeridis, with a naval flare at the Rentis events in December 2023.

The Police operation continues, while people have already been arrested in Attica and in the province.

There were dozens of arrests and arrests of organized fans since the morning all over Greece. Those arrested will be brought before the prosecutor to be charged.

According to the same sources, the Athens Prosecutor’s Office will be charged and not the Piraeus Prosecutor’s Office, to avoid incidents and because there are more police forces in Athens.

The fact that in the last months not the slightest thing was published about the development of the investigation and the case in general, it only did good to the preliminary investigation. Evidence is gathered under the utmost secrecy. The investigation is complex, it requires time and special attention in relation to how the accusations can be linked.”
