A serious accident occurred on Saturday night (4/20) at Universal Studios Hollywood, Los Angeles.

As the American Media reports, the Citywalk tram, which tours the studio facilities for visitors, suffered a mechanical problem, as a result of which 15 people were injured and taken to the hospital.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department and ambulances responded to the scene.

They didn’t catch the tram’s brakes

First responders, who arrived at the theme park, said they found 15 people with minor injuries after a collision with a tram, while witnesses said the tram lost control because its brakes failed. It is not known if another vehicle was involved in the accident.

Touring Universal Studios is one of the most popular choices for theme park visitors

All of the injured were taken to local hospitals and authorities are investigating the incident.

“There was an incident involving a tram at the theme park tonight resulting in several minor injuries. We are working to support our guests and understand the circumstances that led to the accident,” a spokesperson for Universal Studios Hollywood told The Hollywood Reporter.

It is noted that the Universal Studios tour is one of the most popular choices for theme park visitors, as they have the opportunity to see behind the scenes where some of Hollywood’s most memorable movies and TV shows were filmed. Some of the film sets featured on the tour include Jordan Peele’s Jaws and Nope.
