Lance Stroll had a bad race at the Chinese Grand Prix.

Stroll only finished in 15th place. He would certainly have finished higher had he not had contact with Daniel Ricciardo which resulted in a broken front spoiler.

“We were looking for a good result today” Stroll said.

“The soft rubber performed well at the start of the race and I made some crucial passes to move up in the points.”

“We pitted under the virtual safety car regime and I think ninth place was possible.”

“Then when the safety car came in there was a chain reaction with all the cars in front slowing down.”

“I didn’t have enough time to react and avoid Daniel (Ricciardo).”

Stroll believes he was not responsible for the contact and expressed disappointment at the penalty he received.

“It’s disappointing because I ended up with the penalty but the accident was caused by someone else in front who braked suddenly.”

“After changing the front spoiler we were in last place, which means our race was over.”

“It’s a shame to lose points, but we will regroup ahead of the Miami Grand Prix.”
