Underworld – THE STEP

Why do we hide behind our finger? The crisis of the previous decade may be over. We may have returned to some form of normalcy.

But he brought and installed in the foreground of public life an underworld.

An underworld right and left.

Who has learned to settle his differences with fists, slaps, slaps, attacks, fights and gang behavior. Only pistols are not out yet – although…

So the condemnations are fine. But it is not an incident, nor an episode. It’s a phenomenon.

And I will say something even worse.

There is no path of complete return or restoration. The country itself has become worse and the underworld survives because of it.

The Speaker of the House admitted that the boxer MP suffered a light disciplinary penalty because the Rules of the House did not provide for anything more severe. When they made it, people reasonably thought they were dealing with parliamentarians and not savages.

See in the upcoming European elections how many “orphans” of 2012 and 2015 are claiming our vote, right and left. How many survive in their gross toxicity, even if they are no longer the dominant phenomenon.

So they lost. And well they lost. But they still exist claiming a meaning with lewd and violent behavior.

When they are not using the violence of slapping and punching, they are using the verbal violence of the Internet or the verbal assaults of the sewer. They resort to provocation, innuendo and insult.

“They are!” Koutsoubas would say.

But they are because the great majority of Greeks tolerates them, recognizes their rights, allows them unheard of behavior, even when they get away with it.

This Kasidiaris has been in and out of prisons and politics for almost ten years because he always has some clientele to show off.

Because extremeness is never a momentary phenomenon. It is not a paroxysm, nor the flu to pass.

It is cultivated and practiced under the tolerance of the peaceful people who make up the democratic state and under the guise of a right to extremism.

Which is roughly taken as a presumption of democracy. So it’s not. And we have an obligation to shout it out and prevent it as long as extremism becomes everyday.

In the final analysis, we listen to all those who express it, we discuss them, we take them seriously, we put them in our homes, and possibly even vote for them.

It’s an underworld with sponsors. And we are its sponsors.

So if the underworld survives, the responsibility of the sponsors is great.
