Wade Baldwin stepped on the floor of OAKA on the afternoon of Wednesday 4/24, but Maccabi in its announcement states that he will not be available for the 2nd game of the series against Panathinaikos AKTOR.
Without Wade Baldwin, Maccabi will line up at OAKA on Thursday night, 4/25.
The guard from the USA left the first game, about eight minutes before he finished and appeared to have hamstring pain. He stated that he does not wish to miss the second match and would do everything to compete, but everything shows that this is no longer possible, although he trained normally on Wednesday 4/24.
Maccabi even issued a statement informing about the player’s absence:
THE Wade Baldwin had an MRI this afternoon. The examination showed that the player is suffering from a slight tear in the femur and at this stage he will not be able to take part in the match against Panathinaikos that will be held tomorrow (25/4).
This development creates a headache for Oden Katas, since the Israeli coach relies on the guard from the USA for a large part of his game. Now it remains to be seen how the Israelis will react to the injury of one of their top players and what solutions they will find to fill his void.
