Kostas Antetokounmpo turned off the lights on Antonios Cleveland and the blood… came out of nowhere in the last phase of the game.
With 5″ left in the game and Panathinaikos being +16, Cleveland decided to attack the “green” basket and finish the match with two more points.
Unfortunately for him, he wasn’t counting on Kostas Antetokounmpo.
The tall man from Panathinaikos turned off the…lights on the Maccabi player and somewhere there the…bloods ignited.
The visiting player tried to say something to Antetokounmpo and he looked at him with a look, all… meaning. Of course the cooler ones intervened and somewhere there it all ended.
“I think a lot was decided when they scored eight points in one possession! This difference gave them the upper hand, but we responded and dropped it to three points. However, they made important shots. We came here, we won the first match, they beat us in the second, but at the end of the day we have a chance to finish it at home, that’s our goal. Sloukas hit big shots as did Papapetrou. It’s a great team.”
And he continued: “We just play our game. Ataman put pressure on the referees, but all we have to do is play, play our game. Katas would never do such a thing. I think the referees had nothing to do with tonight’s result. Panathinaikos made the shots. We don’t deal with referees and complaints, we just want to play basketball. They won tonight but we are 3-1 this year. So what does Europe think about this? Now we have a game on Tuesday and Thursday and we have a goal to win.”
As for what happened in the locker room: “I don’t know what happened there. Kostas blocked me, people liked it. I am valuable to my team. We will play our game and wait for them on Tuesday. You know how the world is, there was no problem with the world. They are as passionate as I am. I love that”, he stated among other things.
As for Baldwin’s absence: “He is a great player. He’s one of the best. We believe in him and ourselves. If he comes back we’ll be fine, but if he can’t we’ll still be ok“.
