The MEP candidate found himself on a completely different line from Stefanos Kasselakis on the question of the votes of the Spartans Vassilis Kasselakis reinforcing the impression that within SYRIZA there is a communication Babel and Confucius.

The cousin of the SYRIZA president, in a televised appearance on KONTRA CHANNEL on Wednesday, stressed that the Spartans’ votes are welcome for his party.

He emphasized the following verbatim: “Look, the paradox is that governments whose policies have led to the rise of such far-right movements are trying to ban them. What everyone votes for, voting is an expression of freedom and independent thinking, so what everyone votes for is good. They are welcome”.

This opinion is diametrically opposed to the one expressed by Stefanos Kasselakis (at the Open and he later tweeted it).

The president of SYRIZA bluntly underlined: “The battle between ND and Velopoulos has begun for who will win the voters of the neo-Nazi “Spartiates”.

To the question “do you want Spartan voters?”, my answer is clear:
“No”.

However, after the reactions, Vassilis Kasselakis proceeded with a “corrective” statement which reads as follows: “In my statement yesterday on Mrs. Natasha Yamali’s show on Kontra and in response to a question regarding the votes of the Spartans, I expressed my personal opinion that every human being treated with respect. From then on, both SYRIZA PS and its President Stefanos Kasselakis have made it clear that we do not want any vote from the extreme right. No vote from the Spartans.”

The relevant debate is now of great importance since, following a decision of the Supreme Court, the Spartans were excluded from the European elections process.

Specifically, the A1 Department of the Supreme Court decided on Wednesdaythe non-participation of the party in the June 9 European elections. In the coming days – perhaps even before Easter – the decision of the Electoral Court is expected, which will decide the parliamentary future of the Spartans as well as the decisions for the 12 seats they hold.

Against the party’s participation in the European elections, New Democracy, PASOK and the New Left submitted a memorandum to the Supreme Court.
