The match

Olympiacos was more threatening in the first half and threatened in the 6th minute. Ortega filled in from the left, El Kaabi took the header and Cuesta made a difficult save. In the 9th minute, the red and whites found the net. Martins put the red and whites forward, Fortounis then took the ball, opened up on the left to Jovetic, who slotted home to score. The goal, however, was disallowed after a VAR review for a foul by Martins on Montoya at the start of the phase.

Aris also looked threatening with his triple chance in the 12th minute. However, Olympiacos still had the initiative. In the 21st minute, Esse helped El Kaabi to steal the ball, he passed it to Fortounis on the right. The captain of the red and whites returned the ball to the Argentine, who shot inside the “box” and the goalkeeper of Aris made an impressive save. Three minutes later, Cuesta again screamed at Jovetic’s header.

Olympiacos continued the hammering. In the 25th minute, Fortounis took a corner from the right, Ibora took the header, but the ball stopped on the crossbar. Aris mainly threatened with shots from outside the area, with Tzolakis not facing much difficulty.

Olympiacos entered the second half strongly as well, with El Kaabi unable to beat Questa from close range. However, it was the yellows who took the lead in the 48th minute. After a deep ball, Doi opened the control, Moron marked him and took the ball, went in front of Tzolakis and scored for 1-0.

The guests responded immediately and in the 53rd minute they took the lead. Fortounis inside the area played down the left for Martins, who fired in a diagonal shot, with El Kaabi pushing the ball into the net on the line. From then on, the red and whites began to put even more pressure on Aris, with Martins having a good moment in the 58th minute.

The pace then dropped, with Aris taking a more aggressive approach, following Manzio’s changes. However, again the Yellows had non-regional finals. The red and whites stayed away from the final for quite some time. They managed to threaten in the 75th minute. Cicinho saw a good move from El Kaabi, who shot from inside the area, but Brumbetz got his foot in to clear for a corner.

Olympiacos was looking for a way to the goal, but it was blocked. Mendiliber was throwing all its offensive “weapons” on the pitch, but to no avail. In 86′ Fortounis found space, took the shot outside the area, but Cuesta fell and blocked. In fact, in stoppage time the yellows had a good moment after a mistake by Karmos, but Moron did not beat Tzolakis with his weak shot. Thus, 1-1 remained until the final.
