Lyggeridis murder: The role of the “small” in the activity of the criminal organization

SKAI brings to light the structure, the way they acted and recruited young members, but also how the members of the hooligan criminal organization that was revealed after the sad incidents in Rentis and the murderous attack on the police officer Giorgos Lyggeridis financed their actions.

A decisive role in the achievement of their goals was played by the so-called “small”, i.e. people usually aged between 16 and 24, who were used by the “big” to be able to have a numerical superiority when they carry out their attacks, according to with police sources who spoke to Skai.gr.

The role of the “small”

The “littles” in the said criminal organization are said to have participated in at least one criminal act, while their desire to rise in the esteem of the “bigs” made them particularly violent and always willing to participate in attacks against the Police or opposing fans. In fact, as a senior officer of ELAS says, “the presence of each of them, during the commission of criminal acts, was the basis of the organization’s criminal activity, which without it would have been impossible”.

As Skai.gr wrote yesterday, the criminal organization also had “recruiters”.

The leading members of the Criminal Organization recruited the “little ones” and always had them on their side, giving them free entry into the stadium.

The “big ones” received invitations which they distributed to the “little ones” so that they could enter the stadium gates for free. In addition, they were given small “tips” when they were sent to run errands for them, such as buying them food or beers. The above, combined with the awe and respect that the “small” felt for the “big”, was enough for them to fully submit to their orders and be consistent, when called by the “big” to carry out their illegal activities.

Criminal prosecution for criminal organization and homicide against the 67 arrested

Serious felony and misdemeanor charges attributed to criminal prosecution brought by the public prosecutor against those who participated in the action of a criminal organization of fans of a sports teamwhose members are allegedly involved in dhomicidal attack with a naval flare against the police officer Giorgos Lyggeridis last December outside the closed stadium in Rentis.

After studying the voluminous file filed by the police authorities, the public prosecutor brought criminal proceedings against both the 67 arrested who were brought to the courts early in the morning as well as the persons included in the transfer and wanted to appear before the Justice. In total, according to the data in the case file, the case involves approximately 160 persons, of which a leading role in the management of the organization is attributed to five persons.

The prosecution concerns 12 felonies and a total of 28 charges while among the accused are 15 minors. Among the 67 arrested is one of the minors.

Seven people from the criminal organization also have a violation of the drug law, a case that will be separated in terms of its criminal development.

Also seven other persons, with 3 of them arrested, are involved in drug trafficking without being involved in the criminal organization. An arrested person, the father of the person involved, will be tried in Autoforo.

The case will be handled by the 9th investigator with four female investigators who will help in his work, including a juvenile investigator and a drug investigator.
