Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Archbishop Hieronymos will visit together an elderly care facility in Thebes on Friday (26.04.2024).

The announcement about the joint visit of Ieronymos – Mitsotakis was made one day after the attack on ND MP Angeliki Delikaris in her church in Kavala on Sunday (21.04.2024) (because she voted for the same-sex couples bill) and shows that Archbishop Ieronymos he wants to tone it down.

It is recalled that earlier, when asked by a journalist about the attacks on politicians on the occasion of the passing of the same-sex couple law, the Archbishop of Athens and All Greece, Mr. Ieronymos, emphasized that such events are not correct.

“The Church is love. She complains, she says her positions, she is firm in them, but we must not forget that love is the one that is above all, as well as kindness and tolerance” he noted.

He added: “These incidents are also due to the education of everyone and the influence of some people who perceive many things of the Church as revenge. The Church, however, does not take revenge. She loves, but she doesn’t leave her positions.”
