Chariklia Christofi was the only journalist who was found last night in the emergency room of the island’s hospital. She revealed to the Star her brief conversation with the mother of the unfortunate girl, who turned out to have choked on the food she gave him.
“I was sitting with the mother, she was shocked. He said the child is dead. I said to her: “Why, girl, do you think he is dead? Will the doctors say…” “No,” she says, “my child is dead.” This was the impression she had and she said this from the first moment I was next to her. I don’t know why”, described the journalist, Har. The parents of the missing baby are very young and there are questions about the environment in which the baby, as well as his little brother, grew up.
The mother is 20 years old and the father is 21 years old. They had gone to Kos to work for the tourist season. The mother is 7 months pregnant with their third child, as the couple has another 2-year-old boy. This little boy is expected to be examined by a medical examiner, while an autopsy will also be performed in the apartment to determine if his living conditions are suitable.

The parents are detained at the Security Department of Kos and will be brought to the prosecutor’s office on the morning of Monday 22/4 on the charge of fatal exposure of a minor.

It all started yesterday shortly before 8:00 p.m., when the mother realized that the infant was unconscious and called the EMS. Upon arriving at the home, the rescuers found that the baby was not breathing and attempted resuscitation.
