Good Job Nicky: His real name and achievements

“Home with MEGA” welcomes tonight the iconic Yannis Parios, who will be accompanied by their second son, Nikolas Varthakouris, who is known by the stage name “Good Job Nicky”.

But who is the ‘Good Job Nicky’ we will hear today and which of his hits are playing on the radio and have been loved by the young audience?

Nikolas is the second son of Yiannis Parios and Sophia Alibertis. He has three other older brothers Thanasis and Haris Varthakouris from his father’s first marriage with Dina Markopoulou and Michael-Angelos Varthakouris.

In 1998 his parents decided to separate but they maintained a friendly relationship and of course always had their children as a priority.

His first and great success came with the song “January 8th” from Cobalt Music and within two days he had over 400,000 views. Since then recognition began and he was adored by the public.

It is worth noting that in 2022 he was one of the five candidate artists singled out by the special committee established by ERT to select the artist who would represent Greece at Eurovision in May 2022.

How Good Job Nicky came about

Whatever his name is Nikolas Varthakouris, the singer wanted to acquire his own character through his artistic name. His first stage name was Nick Vee. “I realize I might be doing a good job before somebody gives me the thumbs up. I’d like to give myself credit for that and Good Job Nicky,” he told The 2Night Show about how his nickname came about.

His trademark is and apparently remains his blue hair.

His relations with Giannis Parios and Sophia Alibertis

The young artist maintains a perfect relationship with both his parents. “When my father distances himself from the fact that I am his son, when he gets over the emotion, we talk more musically and artistically. My mother is an emotional person. He will tell me “you convince me here, you have interpreted here, you have not interpreted here”. And thank God we are at a very good level right now. He doesn’t tell me anything anymore. Only, he calls me, says “Oh dear Nikola” and hangs up. I hope it stays that way forever, because I make them proud,” Good Job Nicky had characteristically told Gala magazine.

“Two words, clearly: ‘holy monster’, that’s my father. I believe that if he was an English speaker, he would be among the greatest artists of all time. I realize how much he has fought to get to where he is and it is a dream that he has never stopped having the same thirst to create. He lives for music. My mother has no fear and has convinced me from a very young age, not with words but with her attitude, that I was born for this,” he told Lifo.
