The upcoming prequel to the film series Mad Max “Furiosa” includes a 15-minute action scene that took 78 days to shoot, it was revealed.
Speaking to Total Film Magazine, the film’s star Anya Taylor Joy and the film’s director George Miller’s producing partner Doug Mitchell addressed the scene, which the actress noted is “very important for better understanding” of her character ‘Furiosa’.
Mitchell revealed that the film includes “a 15-minute sequence that took 78 days to shoot.” About 200 stuntmen were on set every day, he said, but did not reveal any other details about the scene, which is described as “moment of decisive importance”.
“George and I had these long discussions about why this particular scene was so long. It’s because you see a build-up of skills during a fight, and that’s very important to understand how resourceful Furiosa is, but also her toughness. It’s the longest sequence we’ve ever shot.” said Anya Taylor Joy.
The actress stars in the film as a younger version of Furiosa, the titular character previously portrayed in Mad Max: Fury Road by Charlize Theron. SOURCE: RES – MEB
