The “green light” was given by the Ministry of Tourism for the investment projects concerning the upgrading of marinas in Agios Kosmas in Elliniko (text photo), also in Attica in the municipality of Lavreotiki and Rhodes with the decision rejecting the investment project submitted in Corfu.

These are projects that have been submitted within the framework of the public call for the “Upgrading of Tourist Ports” sub-project, of the “Tourism development” action of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRSP). The action is part of the “Private Investments and Transformation of the Economy” pillar and in particular the Axis “Modernization and improvement of the resilience of the main sectors of the country’s economy” of the plan, which is implemented by the Ministry of Tourism and co-financed by the European Union. With data and the “tight” schedules, the projects will start “running” from the end of April to the end of 2025.

In particular, with regard to the approval of the application for support of the investment project for the upgrade of the Agios Kosmas Marina” with the beneficiary “Elliniko – Company for the Development of Real Estate Utilization and Management of the Metropolitan Pole Hellinikon – Agios Kosmas M.A.E.”, the approved overall budget is at 9.93 million euros, with an aid rate of 79.2%, public expenditure at 7.86 million euros and private at 2.06 million euros. The project includes, among other things, the construction and expansion of the building facilities and special and auxiliary facilities with port works, floating piers, the configuration of the external spaces with constructions and to ensure accessibility but also to serve the needs of the activities that make the port, either sports infrastructure or multifunctional, fixed equipment, etc.

Accordingly, the “green light” was given by the decision of the competent minister, Olga Kefalogiannis, for the request for support of the investment project for the upgrade of the Rhodes marina, with the beneficiary being “Marines of Rhodes Development and Management of Marinas S.A.”, with a total expenditure of 9.95 million euros, of which the public expenditure is 9.44 million euros. With the proposed investment, the upgrade of the tourist port is to be carried out, including the construction, expansion, modernization of building facilities and special and auxiliary facilities, the improvement of accessibility, the purchase and installation of equipment to the extent that it serves the needs of the activities that make the port either sports infrastructure, or multifunctional. Also, RES investments have been planned in the land area and in buildings, RES installations on floating platforms in the sea of ​​the port’s jurisdictional zone).

The decision was also approved in the request for support of the investment plan for the upgrade of the tourist port of the beneficiary Olympic Marine SA. in the area of ​​Panormou, at the 77th kilometer of Athens-Souni in Lavreotiki. It is about the construction, expansion and modernization of building facilities and special and auxiliary facilities, a service and storage building for large vessels, construction of a new jetty on piles and slipway, an office building to serve the needs of the tourist port as well as nautical activities, upgrading the signage of tourist port, improving accessibility, etc. The approved budget is 8 million euros, with an aid rate of 79.13%, public spending at 6.38 million euros and private spending at 1.68 million euros.

On the contrary, the decision of the plan for the creation of facilities for multifunctional recreational and sports activities (within the new marina of Kalyviotis Prefecture of Corfu) with the beneficiary “L MARINE Anonymi Etairia Marina Management” was rejected. The aid application was rejected during the substantive evaluation due to non-compliance with the conditions set out in the call and the eligibility criteria.
