The anniversary event of the Greek Ladies’ Educational Association was successfully held on Wednesday, April 24, in the packed hall of the Agora Argyri, on the occasion of the association’s 93 years.
The atmosphere was particularly moving, as many stories were told about persons who played an important role in the establishment and actions, throughout its period of operation.
Mr. Christos Moulias, lawyer – writer, referred to the important moments of the course and contribution of the association to the Patra society.
Mrs. Evanthia Stivanaki, professor of Theater Studies at the University of Athens, referred to the work of Morfotikos, as well as to women’s solidarity from the past to the present, but also to the perspectives that exist for the future.
The album published for the anniversary was presented, with a video showing of a few minutes.
Members were awarded for their many years of service, and persons who lived closely with the club gave their personal experience.
The event was coordinated by the journalist – editor-in-chief of the “Peloponnisos” newspaper, Mrs. Marina Rizogianni.
Attended: Representative of the Metropolitan of Patras, the Deputy Regional Governor Mr. Charalambos Bonanos, the Deputy Regional Governor Mr. Fokion Zaimis, the Deputy Mayor of Health and Welfare Mrs. Vivian Samouri, representatives of associations and institutions of the city, members and friends of the Educational Association, as well as descendants of former members with important contribution.
The evening ended with a cocktail offer at the venue.
