The mother of 22-year-old Iasona Lalaouni expressed her anger and disappointment at the court’s decision regarding the sentence of the accused police officer.

She stated disappointed the mother of Jason Lalaounis from the court’s decision for the accused police officer, who was found guilty but was given a three-year suspended prison sentence.

“As you heard the decision, you know it.. this is how Greek justice works. There is no. They didn’t take away the diploma either, not even as an example, to show drivers that someone is being punished for driving illegally. Traffic accidents will never end the way we’re going, nobody gets punished.” he said speaking to reporters immediately after the announcement of the decision.

I’m so angry, I’m so disappointed, of course I didn’t expect anything from the Greek justice system, but I wanted to believe, maybe something would change at the last minute. That I would hear them say, if only, that they would take away his diploma. That you can continue to drive normally when you have killed someone on the road is inconceivable to me. Unthinkable”he added.
